SEDONA ECO-CHIC CONTEMPORARY

The design is inspired by the work of Rick Joy and Wendell Burnette, both masters of contemporary architecture of the South-West, and was conceived to take advantage of the steep hillside while respecting the natural configuration and orientation of the land.
The three levels are stepped into the sloped terrain and create outdoor spaces that integrate into the streamlined contours of the façade. The rusted steel element as architectural feature gives subdued tones that almost mirror the natural red rock landscape all around.
Multiple decks oriented in all directions allow for the indoor and outdoor to blend easily and add spaciousness to the living experience.
The entry door, made with solid oak panels, opens to a refreshing atrium with a circular skylight over a curved waterfall feature backed with natural stone and surrounded by greenery. The rainbow sandstone tiled stairs lead you up to the main level.
The style is European in inspiration and feel, where open floor plan meets with warm and refined natural finishes such as Brazilian Cherry engineered hardwood flooring, dark honey colored wood cabinets, quartzite accents and suspended walls. Three large bay windows open to a 53’ long mahogany deck made of recycled materials partially covered with ample overhangs.
Open stairs take you effortlessly to the top level with the master bath clad entirely in Turkish marble and glass, soji screen style closet space and a master bedroom that opens to a large private deck with remarkable views of the red rocks and offers all the space one needs for quiet relaxation and contemplation.
The lower level has a separate entrance and is entirely surfaced with Ivory Select Travertine. The floor plan uses the limited space efficiently by connecting kitchen, dining and living into one comfortable and unifying living experience. The bedroom, cozily tucked away, has a private and relaxing feel. Outside, a landscaped patio, protected with curved walls of quartzite, jasmine, honeysuckle and bamboo, is your constant invitation to relax and enjoy. Being so well nestled into the hill, the thermal mass that envelops it gives the space very high insulation properties.
